Hello, and welcome.

If you are here, it's likely because you are considering counseling services for yourself or someone in your family. As a therapist, I develop a supportive relationship with my clients, working with them to address and modify personal or relational challenges they may be facing. As my client, your role is to be willing to explore the parts of yourself and relationships that make you who you are.

While every counseling experience is unique, my overall approach provides an empathetic relationship where you feel safe and free to discuss your concerns. I am non-discriminatory and sensitive to differences of race, culture, gender, age, language, marital status, sexual orientation and religious preference. I offer faith-based counseling upon request.

I invite you to continue scrolling and take a look at my counseling approach and the services in which I specialize. My contact information is provided below and I welcome any questions you may have or interest in scheduling an initial consult. At the time of the consultation we can discuss if you would like to begin therapy and I will gather the necessary information needed to send you “New Client” paperwork.

MY APPROACH

With my family systems approach, each person plays an integral role to the health of the whole system/family. I collaborate with parents, their children and teens to address and resolve behavioral issues and developmental challenges. My work with struggling couples focuses on fostering hope when it has been lost. If you struggle with anxiety, grief or depression, I will work alongside you in a non-judgmental fashion to explore issues and apply new skills to help you overcome the challenges you are facing.

The majority of my therapy is short-term and results-oriented. My therapeutic approach can help individuals, couples and families:

  • restore balance

  • obtain guidance and support

  • develop skills to maintain meaningful relationships

  • diagnose mental health conditions

  • manage emotions

WHAT TO EXPECT

The primary goals of your therapy will be to work together to resolve personal and/or relationship issues as far as possible, and to promote personal growth, self-awareness and meaningful relationships with the important people in your life. This is a “client-centered” therapy process, which means you determine the particular areas of exploration in a given session. As we reach goals and alleviate specified dysfunctions, therapy can not only be a transformational journey, but an enjoyable one as well.

Counseling sessions last 50 minutes each.

Focus on Client

I keep a smaller caseload with the intention of giving each of my clients premium care. The work done in therapy requires connection and emotional availability.

Focus on the Couple

Couples work is done with myself and my colleague Valarie Johnson. We use Solutions Focus therapy as a means to do the following: Gain a clear understanding of the current problem in order to set future goals, set therapeutic goals and measure success and ultimately build confidence in new growth. Usually there are five to eight sessions in total. We work together with the couple to identify strengths and resources the couple already possess. We help create measurable steps to reach goals established by the couple. The subsequent sessions focus on reaching goals that have been set.
